Details
The whole Book of Psalms in large, clear type, with a short plain-English note before every psalm so you know what you are about to read. It is something a screen cannot give: a real book you hold, write in, and hand on.
Who it is for
- Older readers who find ordinary Bible print too small: the psalms are set in 16pt type.
- Families who read aloud together, at home or beside someone who is unwell.
- Anyone giving a keepsake: a presentation page has lines for who it belongs to, who gave it, the occasion and the year.
What is inside
- All 150 psalms of the King James Version, complete: 2,461 numbered verses.
- The five traditional books, each with its own opening page: Book One (Psalms 1 to 41), Book Two (42 to 72), Book Three (73 to 89), Book Four (90 to 106) and Book Five (107 to 150).
- A plain title and a short note before each psalm. Psalm 4 is "An Evening Prayer", Psalm 23 "The Shepherd Psalm", Psalm 71 "A Prayer in Old Age", Psalm 137 "By the Rivers of Babylon". The notes explain old words too, such as "leasing", which means lying.
- A one-page introduction on how the psalms were sung and how the book is arranged.
- A five-page contents list of all 150 psalms and their titles.
- A closing page on reading it aloud, marking it and handing it on.
Each page is framed by a double rule, with small flower and hummingbird ornaments in the corners (printed in black and white) and wide margins around the text.
