A Memory Book — American Childhood (Paperback)

Give Mum, Dad or a grandparent who grew up in America a gentle way back to the drive-in, the soda fountain counter and the milkman's early-morning round, and give the family the stories that come back with them. Most of its pages ask one warm, open question about the small details of an American childhood, with room to write the answer in their own words and handwriting. It is something a screen cannot give: a real book you hold, write in, and hand on.

Who it is for

For anyone who spent their childhood in the United States, and for the family, carers and care-home staff who sit with them. It suits reminiscence sessions and quiet visits, including with people living with memory loss or dementia. The book's own guidance is simple: there are no wrong answers, no right speed, and it is never a test.
