Details

Every poem from Keats's 1820 book, in a real book you can hold, write in and hand on, which is something a screen cannot give. It was the last book he lived to see in print: three long verse stories, the odes and the unfinished Hyperion, in the order they were first printed.

A short plain-English note comes before every poem, saying what it is about and explaining an old word here and there, so the long stories are easier to follow and the odes can be taken slowly, or read aloud.

What is inside

  • All 13 poems of the 1820 volume: Lamia (in two parts), Isabella; or, The Pot of Basil, The Eve of St. Agnes, Ode to a Nightingale, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to Psyche, Fancy, Ode (Bards of Passion and of Mirth), Lines on the Mermaid Tavern, Robin Hood, To Autumn, Ode on Melancholy, and Hyperion. A Fragment.
  • Hyperion in its three books, breaking off mid-line where Keats gave it up.
  • 16 plain-English notes: one before each poem, except Lamia and Hyperion, which have one before each part and each book.
  • An About This Book introduction and a full contents page.
  • Verse set in 16.5-point Garamond with wide margins, and the notes in the same 16.5-point type.
  • A fine double border round each page, and small hummingbird-and-flower ornaments in the corners of the text pages.
  • A This Book Belongs To page for the owner, the giver and the occasion, and a ruled Notes page at the back.

Who it is for

Readers who know a line of To Autumn or the Grecian Urn and want the whole book it came from. Anyone who likes poetry read aloud at home. A considered gift for someone who loves the Romantic poets and would rather turn a page than scroll one.
