Grandma's Christmas Keepsake
Details
Her shortbread, her table, her stories. This book asks Grandma 96 questions about her Christmases, one to a page, and keeps the answers in her own hand: her earliest Christmas memory, her pudding recipe, the grace said at her table, the story she tells every year. Filled in once, it is meant to be read aloud on Christmas Eve to the grandchildren who will inherit it. It is something a screen cannot give: a real book you hold, write in, and hand on.
Who it is for
Grandmothers, and the families who want her Christmases written down while she can still tell them. Give it early in December and the answers can be ready by Christmas Eve.
What is inside
96 numbered prompts, one to a page, in eight sections of twelve:
- Earliest Christmas Memories, As a Young Woman at Christmas, and As a Mother at Christmas.
- Christmas Recipes: her pudding or cake, her biscuits or shortbread, written out in full.
- Christmases of Hardship and Mercy, and Christmas Faith and Carols.
- Christmases Around the Table: who carved, who said grace, the story she tells every year.
- Gifts to the Generations: a letter to her grandchildren, her signature and the date she finished, pages for photographs of her, her mother and her grandmother, and a closing blessing to read aloud each Christmas Eve.
Each prompt page carries one question at the top and twenty ruled lines running down the page, inside a double-ruled border with hummingbird and floral corners.
