Details
The road to the cross and the empty tomb, in the King James words and in large print. This book gathers the Easter chapters into one volume, so you can read them aloud together, mark the verses you keep coming back to, and bring the same copy out again next Easter. It is something a screen cannot give: a real book you hold, write in, and hand on.
Who it is for
Older readers who find ordinary Bible print hard going, and the families and carers who read with them. It also suits anyone who wants the Passion and Resurrection in one place rather than searching through a full Bible.
What is inside
Ten complete chapters, 395 numbered verses in all, arranged in five parts:
- The Prophecy: Isaiah 53, The Man of Sorrows, and Psalm 22, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me
- The Passion According to S. Matthew: chapter 26, The Last Supper and Gethsemane, and chapter 27, The Crucifixion
- The Resurrection According to S. Matthew: chapter 28, He Is Risen
- The Road to Emmaus: Luke 24
- The Passion and the Tomb According to S. John: chapters 18 to 21, headed The Arrest in the Garden, It Is Finished, The Empty Tomb and Thomas, and Breakfast by the Sea
Every chapter opens with a short plain-English note that tells you what happens before you read it. The verses are set in 16pt Garamond, and ruled lines for your own notes close each chapter. A presentation page at the front has space for who the book belongs to, who gave it, the occasion and the year.
